Louie Woodall

Founder at Climate Proof

Louie Woodall is the founder of Climate Proof, a publication dedicated to advancing the conversation around climate adaptation. Through Climate Proof, Woodall works to bring sharper focus to how individuals, communities, and systems can prepare for and respond to the effects of a changing climate, a subject he argues deserves far more attention than it currently receives.

On The Grove podcast by Earth Onward, Woodall joined host Blaine to unpack what climate adaptation actually means and why the term itself matters. The conversation moved across the roles that different actors play in the climate space, from founders and funders to policymakers and academics, and examined where media sits within that ecosystem. Woodall made the case that publications and journalists are not peripheral to the climate conversation but active participants in shaping what solutions get taken seriously and which problems get named at all. He also explored how language functions as a tool for driving change, arguing that the words used to frame climate challenges carry real consequences for how people respond to them.

Woodall's work with Climate Proof reflects a belief that informed, focused media can do work in the climate space that no other type of organization can replicate.
