Climate Entrepreneurship with Ben Soltoff, Ecosystem Builder & Entrepreneur in Residence @ MIT
Ben Soltoff's MIT book on climate entrepreneurship argues startups are one route to impact, not the only one.
Ben Soltoff is an Ecosystem Builder and Entrepreneur in Residence at the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship, where he works at the intersection of climate technology and startup development. His current focus is authoring "Disciplined Entrepreneurship for Climate," a book aimed at equipping founders with the frameworks needed to build serious companies in the climate space. Soltoff brings a practitioner's perspective to his work at MIT, supporting entrepreneurs as they move ideas from concept to company.
On The Grove, Soltoff joined host Blake for a conversation on climate entrepreneurship, sharing his views on what it takes to build in the climate tech sector, how ecosystems form and mature, and the mindset required of founders tackling environmental challenges. The conversation grew out of a connection made at Greentown Labs, one of the leading clean energy incubators in the country, and was made possible through the support of Earth Onward's partners at Crazy Friends and Clean Tech Growth Lab. Soltoff spoke with the kind of earned clarity that comes from working daily alongside founders and institutions shaping the future of climate innovation.
